Position: Insurance Verification Representative

Location: Maryland

Coverage needs: Full-time 

Setting: Outpatient

Job Overview & Work Site

 

In this position, we are looking for someone who can perform daily reviews of provider schedules to identify procedures requiring insurance verification. This includes but is not limited to tasks like the following: 

  1. Initiate verification and pre-authorization for inpatient and outpatient procedures.
  2. Document insurance verification information in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  3. Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and healthcare team members.
  4. Maintain current knowledge of insurance policies, procedures, and regulations.
  5. Participate in continuous quality improvement activities

License & Experience

 

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience with health insurance preferred.
