In this position you will be expected to maintain a professional manner, providing excellent customer service as reflected in the policies and practices.

Duties include but are not limited to,

  • Accurately obtaining and processing information and documentation while maintaining a 98% accuracy rate.
  • Adhere to department and organization compliance policies, as well as state and federal regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Answer the phone courteously and professionally within three rings using approved greetings.
  • Collect necessary items at the time of service.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information.
  • Participates in training activities for hospital-wide changes by attending meetings and in-services.

License & Experience

 

Requirements for this position include the following:  

  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Typing Speed: Minimum of 20 words per minute.
  • Experience: Two years of previous registration or insurance experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills must be demonstrated.
  • Medical Knowledge: Knowledge of medical terminology is desirable.
  • Computer Skills: Working knowledge of basic computer skills and web-based applications.
  • Interpreter Certification: If serving as a bilingual/multilingual interpreter, certification in Medical Interpretation is required.
